Sustainable Garden Project
Sustainable Garden Project

George Dien’s vision for the community garden was to create jobs and resources for the hundreds of impoverished families and orphaned children in the town of Rehoboth.

The garden project creates jobs and an income for many families. The food that is grown is used to help feed many families on a biweekly basis, or it is sold to sustain the middle is try. The Dien family has been running the care and Compassion ministry for over a decade.  Bridges of Hope is working to start a CHE program which will create a new level of sustainability for the people of Rehoboth and their care and compassion ministry.

Bridges of Hope has been working to create the Bridges Institute of Sustainability in South Africa. The ministry will help people from all over the world create and manage a sustainable ministry by creating small businesses and farming operations. George a d Anna Marie Dien will be an integral part of the initial launch of the BIOS program.

The garden project has received training through Farming God’s Way which is also part of the BIOS program. Farming God’s Way is a tool for equipping into the “agricultural domain” with three integrated spheres of influence, Biblical, Management and Technology. All three have a significant role in ushering in the promised abundant life of Jesus Christ.

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

George and AnnaMarie Dien have established a farm on the edge of the townships that help give jobs and resources to many who would otherwise have no options.  The farm gives jobs which help locals rise out of poverty.  The crops create a sustainable resources for the Care and Compassion ministry which helps hundreds of orphans in the community.

We are currently exploring other types of sustainable business that could occupy one of the empty buildings on the farm plot. These could include Fish farm, Printing or other BIOS businesses.
